A new travel trend is on the horizon seeing a growing number of couples opting to sleep in separate beds when travelling or on vacation.
One half the US travelling couple Angie and Marc Forever, Angie, also known as @sarah_jade_, took to social media platform, TikTok, to share that she and her husband Marc, also explore this sleep method when travelling.
Jade said this sleeping arrangement allows both of them to have the best quality of sleep and has labelled it as “pro-tip for marriage”.
“It’s the best sleep ever 😴🤣,” said Jade in the caption under her video.

Turns out, Jade and Marc are not the only couple who swear by the “separate bed” sleep method when travelling or even at home.
@kwhite2903 also revealed that he and his partner also have this sleeping arrangement.
“Yes, but not for that reason!!! One for sleep the other for…. 🔥”
Another user, @cruisegrandma, said: “We sleep in separate beds at home 😂.”
Whilst @lilacgiraffe said: “We have different bedrooms at home. I'm one bad night's sleep away from demanding separate hotel rooms when we travel.”
There’s also research highlighting this peculiar trend on how married couples choose to sleep when travelling.
According to the 2025 Hilton Trends Report, “sleep divorce” is an actual thing with nearly two-thirds (63%) of travellers admitting to sleeping better when sleeping alone.
“In fact, 37% of travellers prefer to sleep in a separate bed from their partner when travelling, and most of those travelling with children (3 in 4) think it’s best to sleep apart from their kids while travelling,” said the report.
