Black Friday, the most awaited shopping on the South African consumer is here and it seems that tech items like the Xbox Series and the PlayStation 5 as well as specials on discounted flights were at the top of the minds of consumers.

According to data from Google Trends, Black Friday, Black Friday flight deal, XBox Series X and PS5 Black Friday, were trending in South Africa, with thousands searching for information. 

It can expected that young people especially young men will be particularly interested in buying the PlayStation 5. 

Various South African retailers are offering Black Friday items including the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition which normally retails for R11,999 and is now on sale for R9,999.

Other PlayStation 5 items that are on sale include the PlayStation 5 Accessory Bundle which originally retails for R14,499 while the Black Friday discount cost is R12,499. 

The Google Trends data shows that the top three provinces that are showing interest in PlayStation 5 are KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape and Gauteng.

The other Black Friday items that SA consumers are showing interest in is flights and deals on flights, according to Google Trends. 

South Africans are showing interested in keeping their travel plans local as different local airlines are trending on Google. This could mean SA consumers are looking to keep their holiday plans local or they have plans to visit loved ones that live in different parts of the country.

The Western Cape, Gauteng and Mpumalanga are the top three regions that are showing interest in Black Friday flight deals. 

The Xbox Series X is also trending on Google in South African which could mean that there is so interest in this tech item from consumers. The item which costs R14,999 is now on sale for R13,999. 

The top three provinces that are showing interest in the Xbox Series X include: the Western Cape, North West and Gauteng.
