Keen to re-discover your sense of adventure? The weekend of August 24 - 26 has been set aside for De Hoek Country House’s annual Ballooning adventure weekend, in conjunction with Air Ventures Hot Air Ballooning.
The exquisite Magaliesberg mountain range, where this boutique hotel is situated, is an ideal area for this activity.
Weekend guests taking advantage of this event, will be welcomed to De Hoek on Friday and after their welcome, will be briefed by the balloon pilots on the weekend’s activities.
Once everyone’s appetite for adventure has been whet, guests will be treated to one of De Hoek's signature three course dinners.
Early morning Saturday sees adventurers gather on De Hoek's rolling lawns at dawn to enjoy steaming coffee and home made rusks as the balloons are readied, embarkation sorted and the magnificent balloons gently drift upward and into the skies.
When the hour of ballooning is over, the talented hotel chefs will be waiting to serve a sumptuous breakfast. The rest of Saturday morning is at leisure, giving guests the opportunity to explore the hamlet of Magaliesburg with its eclectic arts and craft offerings. A light lunch precedes optional boules, archery or other on site activity before high tea and the evening's five course meal with wine pairing.
A leisurely breakfast will end the weekend for guests on Sunday morning.
