If you’ve ever changed a baby’s dirty nappy you’ll know that it can be a rather smelly affair.
Therefore one can understand why this passenger would be disgusted by the fact that a couple decided to change their baby’s poop nappy a row in front of her on a flight.
She took to Reddit to share what happened and to find out from others if they’ve ever had a similar experience.
“The people in the row in front of me are changing a poopy diaper in their seats. The smell is horrendous,” wrote the disgusted woman.
“Anyone ever experienced this? There's no reason not to do this in the bathroom,” she continued.
In the comments, she adds that because the flight was relatively empty, she was able to move back a few rows.
When the flight attendant noticed that she had moved, she asked why.
She was mortified after she explained why she had moved and told her that she was going to address it with the passenger.
“The smell was still lingering and I wasn't going to take the chance of a repeat as this is a 5-hour flight,” wrote the annoyed passenger.
In an update, the passenger reported that the flight attendant told the father that it was unsanitary and he needed to do that in the bathroom.
“Thankfully he just said ok and didn’t throw a fit,” she added.
It seems this isn’t an uncommon occurrence as some other Reddit users shared similar experiences.
“Experienced this on a night flight. The smell literally woke everybody up. The FA (flight attendant) came yelling at the mom telling her she needs to go to the bathroom. But the damage was already done and it took some time to get rid of the smell,” commented one person.
“Oh yip, I have experienced this before - family in first row of the cabin (I was in the row behind). The father and the other child f***ed off whilst mum changed the diaper. I wear a mask with some vicks vaporub inside it, and it was having a hard time filtering out the stench. The sad thing was baby was obviously having intestinal problems as mum was changing the diaper once an hour. After a while I heard someone in the cabin yell out where the is the father, who kept f***ing off each time,” wrote another.
