WHEN Thiyolan Padayachee, 30, stepped out to run an errand, his family did not expect to get a phone call to say that he had been murdered.

Padayachee, 30, had returned home from his girlfriend’s Christmas party at work and told his family he was stepping out for a short while, last Friday evening. He did not return home.

On Saturday morning, his sister, Karen Raman, received a phone call that “made my heart feel like it was ripped out of my chest”.

“I was told that Thiyolin had been murdered and that his body was found near his home. The police also do not have any answers for us. I need answers and closure. If anybody knows anything please call the police or us,” Raman said.

Padayachee was part of the Msunduzi Darts Club, she said.

“He loved pool and darts, and had excelled in it over the years. We had lost both our parents, so we shared a close bond. We only had each other. He loved his job and his daughter, Laqueesha,” she said.

Ray Govender, from Jeremiah’s Auto, where Padaychee was employed for the last two years, said: “He was our best salesman and part of our family. We want justice and call for swift action from the police.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Carl Raman on 082 497 1203.
