WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that will allow you to find out what your voices messages say even in loud places when you cannot listen to them.
This new feature from social messaging platform WhatsApp is called voice message transcripts.
“For those moments we’re excited to introduce voice message transcripts. Voice messages can be transcribed into text to help you keep up with conversations no matter what you’re doing,” WhatsApp said.
The voice message transcripts are generated on a smartphone device so that no one else, not even WhatsApp, can hear or read the personal messages.
This is what you need to know to get started:
1. Open WhatsApp Settings.
2. Tap Chats.
3. Turn Voice Message Transcripts on or off.
4. When enabling Voice Message Transcripts, select your Transcript Language.
Alternatively, when enabling voice message transcripts for the first time, you can tap Get started from the voice transcription.
Then tap on Choose language, select your transcript language, and choose when you would like to download the language by tapping set up now or wait for Wi-Fi.
The Meta-owned platform said that they are excited to build on this on the voice messaging experience and make it even better and more seamless.
Voice message transcripts are rolling out globally over the coming weeks. WhatsApp will start with a few select languages including English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian with plans to add more languages over the coming months.
