DURBAN – AmaZulu will face Orlando Pirates without their stalwart, Moeneeb Josephs, who has been granted leave to be with his mom, who is not in good health.
Usuthu will meet Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday at 6pm in the Telkom Knockout quarter-final tie.
Josephs was the only missing player on Wednesday as Cavin Johnson, the coach at Usuthu, took his troops through their paces.
Joseph’s mom suffered from a heart attack after Usuthu’s game against Cape Town City in the Telkom Knockout last week.
“Moeneeb’s mother is now fine. She went back to the hospital I think yesterday (Tuesday). She is okay and we are happy for that. He hasn’t come back (Moeneeb),” Johnson said.
“When things like that happen to my players and my staff, they can go home for three months or six months, it doesn’t bother me.
“As long as when you come back, all those things are sorted out. He is okay. He won’t be in contention for selection for the Pirates game.”
Siyabonga Mbatha is set to continue between the sticks for Usuthu, with Energy Murambadoro set to deputise for Mbatha.
