Durban - Police and private security have recovered vehicles that were taken by robbery suspects in separate incidents in Pietermaritzburg recently.
In one incident, people were allegedly robbed at a business premises and the robbers also took a bronze Toyota Hilux.
Magma Security & Investigation owner Shaheen Suleiman said the vehicle was taken during a business robbery at Unit 14 in Imbali.
He said the vehicle was fitted with a tracking device which was activated.
“Within 15 minutes after the activation the said bakkie was recovered at Imbali Phase 4, by members from Magma Security & Investigations, Tracker Connect PMB Flying Squad and Plessislaer SAPS.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said a case of business robbery was opened at Plessislaer police station after a group of people were allegedly robbed by two men.
“The vehicle which was taken during the robbery was later recovered in Imbali area.”
In the second incident, Suleiman said there was a report of a red Toyota Corolla that was taken during a house robbery at Slangspruit during the morning of December 17.
He said the tracking device was activated and the vehicle was recovered at KwaPata by members from Magma Security & Investigation, Tracker Connect PMB Flying Squad and SAPS.
Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said Alexandra Road police were investigating a case of house robbery after an incident in Ambleton.
