Britain's Prince Harry was only 12 when his mother Diana, the Princess of Wales, was killed in a car crash in Paris but on Saturday the redhead prince made sure that his mother's presence was felt as he tied the knot with American actress Meghan Markle.
St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle was filled with white peonies and white roses - Diana's favourite flowers. They made a stunning backdrop to a ceremony that saw a 1000-year-old royal family welcome a vivacious, outspoken and totally modern young woman of mixed race into their fold.
Meghan's bouquet, which featured flowers from the gardens of Kensington Palace handpicked by Harry, contained forget-me-knots which were also a firm favourite with his mother.

The bride's engagement ring also contains two diamonds from Diana's personal collection.
And probably the most powerful tribute to Diana came when her sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, delivered the only Bible reading of the ceremony. Lady Jane also delivered the reading at Diana's funeral.

It is clear that Harry went to great lengths to ensure that his mother was present, if only in spirit, on the biggest day of his life.
