The Filmmaker Jeff Baena -- best known for directing films like "Life After Beth" and "The Little Hours," and the husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, has been found dead in their Los Angeles home.

According to reports from TMZ, Baena's body was found by an assistant on Friday inside the home.

The Los Angeles Fire Department released a statement saying; “Death was determined for an approximately 47-year old male, no transport. We responded to the 2100 block of Fern Dale Place for a death investigation. Officers responded for a male decedent”. Baena was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office released a statement saying that the 47-year-old died by hanging at their Los Feliz property.

Baena is best known for directing Life After Beth, his directorial debut, which Plaza starred in, and The Little Hours.

He also had previously spoken candidly about mental health ahead of the release of his 2020 film "Horse Girl". He admitted that his family history with mental illness had influenced the film's plot

On a Reddit Ask Me Anything forum he spoke about his first stepmother’s struggles with manic depression and how she was in and out of mental health care facilities.

.In 2021, Plaza revealed she and Jeff had tied the knot in an Instagram post after dating for about ten years. She is best know for her roles in "Parks and Rec" ,"Emily The Criminal" and "The White Lotus."
