TS Galaxy owner Tim Sukazi has spoken about the club's recent improvement under head coach Adnan Beganovic.
Despite their Nedbank Cup exit at the hands of Motsepe Foundation Championship side Durban City on Friday, Sukazi predicts an even brighter future for his club. Having begun the season in poor form, the club were dealt a huge blow when Sead Ramovic resigned from his head coach position to pursue other opportunities.
With Galaxy looking for a change in fortunes, Sukazi revealed that Beganovic, who served as an assistant coach to Sead Ramovic, would take over as the head coach, which has proved to be an excellent decision.

The loss on Friday was Beganovic’s first loss since taking over the head coaching position in November 2024. Heading into the encounter, Galaxy had gone 13 matches in all competitions without a defeat. The team had registered seven victories and six draws.
Galaxy had a dismal start to the 2024/25 season as they were winless in their opening six matches in the Betway Premiership.
The Mpumalanga-based outfit was rooted at the bottom of the log standings with only two points but now hold fourth spot and in contention for CAF football. Speaking to the media at the Chatsworth Stadium on Friday, Sukazi was positive despite his side’s embarrassing loss.
“To be honest, there is nothing to complain about. I think from a TS Galaxy perspective, the challenge was always going to be the turnaround strategy,” he explained.
“I'm sure now we all agree that it has worked. It was a close call; don't forget that after six games we had two points. So we looked at other clubs like Magesi and Royal AM with admiration because they were above us.”

“I think in the league, in the last 11 games we (collected) 23 points. Offer me this number of points at any time. Yes, so looking forward, we will use the same formula and hopefully finish as high as possible.”
He further went on to concede defeat to the better side on the day and felt it was his team’s turn to feel the disappointment of an embarrassing Nedbank Cup upset, having beaten Kaizer Chiefs to win the trophy whilst they were in the second division in 2019.
“In the year when we won it, I'm sure no one believed when we started that this second tier club could win it, and we went on to win it. No one had predicted that outcome. So that's how it is with cups,” he expressed.
“But especially the draws that look easier, those are the ones that become the most tricky. So I'm sure you saw today; I think this is one match we could have played for three hours, and I don't think we could have scored the goal we needed.”
Beganovic and his troops will shift focus to the league as they will face a tricky Stellenbosch FC side. Kickoff on Tuesday, 18 February, at Mbombela Stadium is at 7:30 PM.
