Durban – Two men were arrested with stolen property an hour after a Durban home was robbed on Sunday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said that at 4.30pm on Sunday, November 13, Durban Central police officers were on patrol in St George’s Street when they noticed a vehicle with two men inside parked outside a shop
Ngcobo said that when the men noticed the officers, they tried to reverse out but the officers blocked them.
“A search was conducted and police found various household items in the vehicle as well as latex gloves. Upon further investigation it was established that the suspects were involved in a house robbery case that occurred in the Westville area,” Ngcobo said.
“It was confirmed by Westville police that the same vehicle was used in the house robbery that took place on the same day at 3.30pm. The recovered property was positively identified by the lawful owner.”
Ngcobo said the suspects, aged 20 and 25, were arrested for the possession of stolen property.
